Job Title : Extrusion Team Lead

Schedule : Monday – Friday, with the possibility of 12-hour shifts

Compensation : $21+ / hour (DOE)

We’re currently seeking a hands-on and motivated Extrusion Team Lead to support one of our key manufacturing clients. This position will oversee daily extrusion line operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met.

Position Summary

The Extrusion Team Lead will be responsible for supervising and supporting extrusion line operators in a fast-paced production environment. This includes setting up and monitoring extrusion equipment, coordinating production schedules, maintaining product quality, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate is a reliable leader with strong mechanical aptitude and prior manufacturing experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and support extrusion line operators to achieve production goals

Set up, start, and monitor extrusion machines and related equipment

Troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues to minimize downtime

Ensure materials are correctly loaded and extruded according to specifications

Perform quality checks to verify product dimensions, appearance, and consistency

Communicate with maintenance, production planning, and quality teams to resolve issues

Maintain accurate production and downtime records

Enforce safety policies, procedures, and good manufacturing practices (GMP)

Assist in scheduling, shift coverage, and performance feedback for team members

Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Skills

Required :

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of experience in an extrusion, plastics, or manufacturing environment

Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion processes

Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and process sheets

Solid communication and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to train and motivate team members

Comfortable working 12-hour shifts when needed

Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Preferred / Nice to Have :

Experience with PET, film, or sheet extrusion processes

Familiarity with extrusion line troubleshooting and setup

Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery

Frequent standing, walking, and climbing

Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs (with assistance for heavier loads)

Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) required

Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts or weekends based on production needs
