Senior Software Engineer in Test - Data Platform

Overview

Okta is seeking an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer as an infrastructure quality engineer for our Data Platform team. We are looking for a candidate who embraces total ownership and is passionate about automated infrastructure, engineering process, and quality assurance in the whole CI / CD pipeline with AI adoption to best serve the quality of our data streaming processing and ML platform.

What you\'ll be doing

• Automate API tests, End-to-End tests, reliability / scale tests
• Review requirements and design specs to develop relative test plans and test cases
• Work with engineering management to scope and plan engineering efforts
• Clearly communicate and document QE plans for scrum teams to review and comment
• Automate all critical features to maintain zero-debt cadence
• Release features with solid quality to customers
• Respond to Production issues / alerts and customer issues during on-call rotation
• Work with ETL frameworks such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or Informatica and message queues like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar tools for data ingestion
• Familiarity with modern data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and traditional systems like Hive or PostgreSQL
• Help with mentoring new hires and interns

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between :

$149,000 — $223,000 USD
