We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Oncology professional to join a dedicated healthcare team serving the Midwest region. This role welcomes Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) who thrive in dynamic clinical settings and enjoy a variety of daily responsibilities.
Role Overview
As a valued member of the clinical team, you will provide high-quality patient care across multiple specialties, collaborating closely with experienced healthcare professionals. Your work will directly impact patient well-being through attentive assessment, treatment, and support.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and document physical, psychological, and social patient dimensions in compliance with clinic policies.
- Ensure pre-authorizations and consent forms are obtained before therapies.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, including symptom management, lab results, treatment plans, and medication administration.
- Establish treatment priorities based on medical and nursing diagnoses.
- Administer medications and assist with office procedures such as injections, immunizations, phlebotomy, EKGs, and vision screenings.
- Make referrals to other providers as directed and communicate test results to patients promptly.
- Manage phone communications efficiently and ensure proper billing documentation.
- Monitor medication samples and report adverse medication effects.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to resolving patient issues.
Education and Certification
Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with current CMA certification, orGraduation from an accredited nursing school with current RN or LPN licensure valid in the region.Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is preferred; if not currently certified, must obtain within three years of hire.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.Experience and Skills
Minimum of three years healthcare experience preferred.Familiarity with Joint Commission regulations and oncology standards.Experience with Epic Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and work independently with attention to detail.Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to calm and support distressed patients and families.This position offers a supportive and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued and your professional growth is encouraged.
