Responsibilities

• Performs duties as a detention officer searching, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees
• Exercises surveillance and control over detainees and maintains order and discipline
• Attends to physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day
• Makes official entries in the assigned post logbooks that are legible and complete
• Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility
• Provides care, custody and control of detainees
• Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures
• Guards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care and when and other duties as assigned
• Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures
• Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies
• Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina
• Conducts a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer
• Inventories all equipment and notates the results in the logbook
• Receives all authorized equipment and ensures that it is in proper working condition
• Ensures that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery
• Always maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with any special equipment assigned and used while employed on this contract
