Description
Specific Responsibilities :
- Program Oversight and Staff Management
Supervise and support all child care staff, ensuring consistent, high-quality care delivery
Coordinator staff schedules, training, onboarding, and performance evaluationsLead recruitment and mentoring of new child care personnelFacilitate team meetings and provide ongoing supervision and supportAssist in implementing policies and protocols and provide support to childcare staffChild Development and CareEnsure all children are supervised in designated areas, including the Play Room
Guide staff in maintaining an environment that is orderly, healthy, nurturing, educational, and emotionally secureOversee the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activitiesOrganize daily activities for the childrenMonitor child interactions and model positive parenting techniques for staff and residentsOversee children at mealtimes and snacks, ensuring a balanced diet is maintainedProtect children from physical harm and emotional abuseSafety, Compliance and Crisis ResponseEnsure compliance to safety protocols and emergency procedures
Maintain compliance with state and local child care regulationsMonitor hygiene practices and dietary standards for childrenRemain alert to potential problems and respond promptly to emergencies, supporting staff in crisis resolution as neededAdministrative DutiesMaintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental observations
Uphold program structure and therapeutic guidelinesParticipate in organizational planning and contribute to program developmentPerform other duties as assigned by the Program DirectorQualifications :
High School Diploma or GED required : associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field preferredMinimum of 3 years experience in child care with infants and toddlers, or early childhood setting, including supervisory experienceCPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtainValid NYS Drivers' License; clean driving recordAcceptable clearance checks for State Central RegisterCompliance with health regulations for physical / Mantoux testingExperience working with infants or toddlers preferredRelationship with Others :
