Center for Human Development (CHD), is seeking a staff level Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in our Springfield, MA office. You will be involved in all aspects of the Accounting (Fiscal Services) department that supports a large multi-faceted Agency that serves people in need of human services.

In the Accounts Payable Specialist role, you will be primarily responsible for accounts payable, analyzing and reconciling vendor account information and journal entries for multiple programs within a large multi-faceted social service agency. Duties to include, but are not limited to :

• Petty cash processing
• Preparing and entering disbursement information into computer
• Processing payments to vendors
• Auditing documents; maintaining accounting controls
• Reconciling vendor statement discrepancies
• Maintaining financial security by following internal controls
• Cash handling

Success Factors :

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Specialist role would have previous experience navigating bookkeeping software. A proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically with strong capabilities in excel. They should be a strong communicator that approaches interactions with vendors and staff in a pleasant and professional manner. Having previous cash handling experience. And lastly, a willingness to take on additional responsibilities to assist team members including, weekly check runs, accurately reviewing GL code documentation, performing vendor account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay rate is $23-$24 / hourly. This is a full time Monday-Friday, 9 : 00am-5 : 00pm opportunity. It includes a phenomenal benefit package, which includes Dental, Health and Life insurance. Paid time off, earned vacation time and paid just to name a few.
