Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrol

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication skills will support positive interactions with visitors. You will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere by providing exceptional customer service and responding to various situations as they arise. Pay Rate : $18.59 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTimeFri11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AMSat11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the retail environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site procedures.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and reporting any irregularities or security-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal team members to address site-specific needs and provide a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid security guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
