About The Division
Were looking for a professional accountant to join our Matriculation team in the Educational Opportunities and Investments division to process benefit distributions to colleges and universities for participants in the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan, the states prepaid tuition plan, utilizing a proprietary recordkeeping system as well as the statewide accounting system (USAS). Your day-to-day activities will involve every aspect of processing payments to colleges and universities, and scholarship refunds; serving as point of contact for colleges and universities, and Plan participants on tuition billings and applying program rules; reviewing and validating college and university survey responses used to set annual program rates; and reconciling recordkeeping system receipts and disbursements. This position is part of a team, who are driven to provide excellent customer service, collaborative, adaptable, and dedicated to success of the Plan. You would be a great fit for this role if you are self-motivated, resourceful, can deliver accurate and timely results and work well with a team.
Work Hours : 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 40 hours. Weekly work schedule consists of 3 in-office days and 2 telework days. Occasional weekend and / or late-evening work may be required. Actual work hours may change based on business need.

Substitutions : One (1) additional year of full-time work experience in accounting or financial operations may substitute for thirty (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).
In This Role You Will :
Process payments to colleges and universities for Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan (TGTP) beneficiaries.
Serve as point of contact for colleges and universities on tuition billings and applying program rules.
Assist with reviewing and validating college and university survey responses used to set annual program rates.
Serve as point of contact for purchasers and beneficiaries. Processes daily invoice and voucher reports.
Processes university refunds and performs account research. Prepares and enters vouchers into Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS).
Reconcile recordkeeping system receipts and disbursements, maintains the college and tuition fee grid in recordkeeping system, and assists in testing software upgrades.
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
