Description :

The unit has 10 labor and delivery beds.

There are 4 triage beds and 17 postpartum beds.

The unit averages 150 births per month.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 to 2.

The facility utilizes Fetal Link for fetal heart monitoring.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner Power Chart.

Charge nurses are present on the unit.

OB techs are available, with one per shift.

Weekend requirement includes 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

Travelers will be required to work one major and one minor holiday.

Scrub colors are provided.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Shifts are 12 hours, from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730.

C-section experience is mandatory, and candidates must be able to circulate for C-sections.

No floating to other units is required.

Common patient diagnoses include high-risk deliveries such as hypertension, diabetes, advanced maternal age, pre-term, lack of prenatal care, substance abuse, and twin deliveries.

The target population includes low-income individuals with limited education and a high Spanish-speaking demographic.

Travel experience is preferred.

The unit has a level 2 NICU and transfers level 3 babies when needed.
