The purpose of this job description is to communicate the duties and responsibilities associated with the position of Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant primary responsibility will be to support the Legal Team in an administrative function. This role will assist the company’s in-house counsels in their preparation of and revisions to legal documents, including commercial leases and related documents, communicate frequently with internal departments as well as outside counsels, consultants, tenants, and vendors, and provide other legal support services.

Job Responsibilities :
- Assist with ensuring compliance with internal control procedures.
- Assist Legal and other departments with transactions and maintain closing records.
- Maintaining all legal records, including hard copies and electronic filings of legal documents and emails, and processing files for storage.
- Manage and monitor Certificate of Insurance and endorsements with external tracking vendor. Follow up with property managers and tenants to remedy deficiencies.
- Prepare insurance claim reports and work with insurance brokers to monitor status through closure of claims.
- Process, track and update in-house counsel on all open litigation matters
- Coordinate and document collection activities with outside counsel, collection agencies and property managers.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on all monthly billing and invoices
- General administrative duties include maintaining office calendar, answering correspondence and taking telephone calls.

Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required7+ years’ experience in legal administration support preferably with a real estate (law firm or corporate) practice group.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced use of MS Word and Excel (including redlining, comparing documents, advanced formatting, etc.)Typing 65 WPMProven experience managing Certificate of Insurances and endorsementsExperience with Yardi preferred, not requiredExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with other team membersAble to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
