Position Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fire Protection Estimator to join our estimating team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fire protection projects, including new installations, retrofits, and maintenance work. This role requires a strong understanding of fire protection systems, NFPA codes, and construction estimating practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to prepare accurate and competitive fire protection estimates.
  • Perform detailed material, labor, and equipment take-offs.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and ensure accurate bids.
  • Develop cost breakdowns, proposals, and bid documents.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations when required.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards, codes, and pricing trends.
  • Support business development efforts with budget pricing and conceptual estimates.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of fire protection estimating experience, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection system design.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., AutoSPRINK, Trimble, or similar tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
