RN-NICU Director (Permanent Role)
Location : Austin, TX, 73301
Shift : Variable Shift
Guaranteed Hours : (36 hours / week)
Compensation : Based on experience (Negotiable)
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the NICU, ensuring quality and efficiency in care delivery.
- Oversee budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations within the NICU.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and policies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory body requirements, including Joint Commission standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of NICU staff.
- Provide mentorship and leadership development to nursing staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications : - Education :
Bachelor's Degree or approved education plan required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred .Master's Degree preferred .Licensure & Certifications :Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or an active compact license.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred .NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred .FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) preferred .RNC-OB certification preferred .Experience :Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare is required.
