Overview
FCA is seeking a Medical Record and Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the operation of the outpatient clinic. This position oversees the processing of medical record requests, verifies insurance coverage and benefits, assists with scheduling client appointments, and the submission of court and probation related documents.
Responsibilities
- Process and track medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA and agency policy.
- Coordinate timely release of medical records to providers, legal entities, and external requestors.
- Verify client insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
- Communicate insurance coverage details and client financial responsibility as needed.
- Enter and update accurate insurance and demographic information in the EHR.
- Schedule and confirm client appointments based on provider availability.
- Maintain inquiry tracking logs from hospitals, court systems, and external agencies.
- Complete and submit all agency, program and regulatory reports and other required documentation by the required deadline.
- Assume other responsibilities and tasks as assigned in relation to the role.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate Degree or certification in Medical Office Administration preferred.Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare, outpatient clinic, or medical office setting required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills with MS Office and electronic health record system proficiency.Compensation Information
The base pay range is $40,000.00 / yr - $50,000.00 / yr. Location : Hicksville. Schedule : Full Time, 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday; some evenings required. Status : Non-Exempt.
