Graduate Site Design Engineer

Overview

Pennoni is hiring! We are looking for a Graduate Site Design Engineer to contribute to multi-discipline site design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our Newark, NJ office. This person will work on municipal improvement and private site development projects while supporting Staff & Project-level Engineers in conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform site design work, including site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks (water & sanitary sewer systems), and public street design.
• Perform site visits to review existing and proposed conditions.
• Assist with stormwater management projects : design stormwater piping, assist with Erosion & Sediment Control, detention basin designs, and NJDEP Best Management Practices.
• Review local municipal ordinances as well as county & state regulations.
• Assist the design team in preparing plans for permitting & construction; this includes preparation of permit applications.
• Assist with preparing engineering reports that present technical information to demonstrate compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Additional tasks as needed.
