Job Title : Temp Aide - Psych
Position Function : The Temp Aide - Psych position helps school psychologists provide services in the elementary or secondary educational systems. The main function of the Temp Aide - Psych position is to support the school psychologist in their working with staff, parents and students. They work under the guidance of a school psychologist(s) who is ultimately responsible for delivery of educational programs and the Temp Aide Psych serves as support. The role is to link data collection through observations and consultation and assist the school psychologist in communication between the school staff, families and community.
Essential Performance Responsibilities :
- Assist school psychologists with classroom observations and data collection
- Assist school psychologists in file reviews
- Works with school psychologists in completing Functional Behavior Assessments
- Assists teachers in data collection, and maintaining records regarding student performance and progress
- Assists in the maintenance of learning areas and instructional materials
- Uses appropriate educational technology and resources
- Display patience and understanding while working with students and staff
- Ability to work in demanding situations and still maintain a sense of order
- Displays understanding and sensitivity to the obstacles facing students
- Recognizes individual learning styles and become knowledgeable of the characteristics of learners you serve (e.g., cultural background, language proficiency, mobility and family dynamics)
Additional Duties : Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Equipment : This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use.
Travel : Limited travel between schools and central offices may be required.
