Description

Essential Functions :

1.

Establish, implement, and administer the Environmental Management System (EMS) and EHS programs at all BTD facilities. Develop and document EHS and EMS policies, procedures, goals, and strategies for all areas.

2.

Be the company resources and evaluate progress in achieving objectives of overall EMS & EHS programs. Communicate programs' effectiveness and improvement opportunities to all stakeholders.

3.

Continuously improve the EHS and EMS programs. Remain informed of current and emerging changes in laws, regulations, and compliance.

4.

Benchmark KPI's against other organizations and actively participates in EMS & EHS associations.

5.

Present effectively and comfortably to large and small groups. Lead and facilitate working groups.

6.

Formulate information necessary to establish EHS program objectives and budget requirements.

7.

Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.

8.

Establish and lead the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team and comply with all Company policies and procedures.

9.

Ensure documentation and compliance as required by OSHA, EPA, ISO, local and federal laws, and other agencies. Implement audit process to confirm compliance.

10.

Serve as BTD's contact point for EHS to parent corporation. Ensure documentation and compliance as necessary to fulfill corporate requirements.

11.

Engage with the organization and top management on understanding and measuring how the organizational business practices impact the environment. Coordinates actions to track and reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability.

12.

Communicating with top management, customers, suppliers, corporate leadership, and all interested parties, to convey the importance of all sustainability and safety policies.

13.

Ensure risk assessments are completed while integrating EMS and EHS goals.

14.

Maintain accurate records for EMS and EHS programs and prepare reports, as needed, for regulatory agencies.

15.

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

16.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

17.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

18.

Leadership Responsibilities :

1.

In a positive manner, lead, manage, and develop direct reports.

2.

Lead safety coordinators & ensure day-to-day activities are being completed such as incident investigation & reporting, corrective actions, EHS training, risk assessments, and safety audits and inspections.

3.

Must be able to work off-shift and travel as needed to corporate offices and operational facilities.

4.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Present effectively and comfortably to large and small groups

5.

Lead and facilitate working groups

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Education and Training :

1.

Bachelor's degree in industrial safety or related field.

2.

Minimum 3 years' experience designing and managing EHS programs in a manufacturing setting.

3.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

4.

Intermediate computer skills (e.g., MS Office, including Excel and Word) are essential.

Preferred Education and Training :

1.

Master's degree in engineering or business field.

2.

5 - 10 years' experience designing and managing EHS programs.

3.

Previous experience supervising direct reports.

4.

Safety professional certification (CSP).

5.

Project Management Experience.

Compensation Salary Range : OTC14 $92,131-$160,605 related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
