What You'll Do

The Specialty Services Supervisor oversees an integrated clinical care team to provide high quality nursing care to outpatient appointments, specialized diagnostic and treatment procedures and hospitalized specialty patients. This position utilizes exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to provide coaching and mentorship to all team members. The Supervisor engenders a spirit of collegiality, collaboration, and teamwork both within the section and throughout the hospital. In addition, the Veterinary Technician Supervisor ensures an exceptional educational experience for the veterinary students on each rotation. The services overseen by this supervisor include Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Neurology so having experience in or an interest in one of those areas is strongly preferred. This is a great opportunity to combine your advanced technical skills with excellent leadership skills to guide and grow your teams. Ideal candidates would be VTS, VTS tracking or highly experienced CVT in one of the specialties that you would oversee as approximately 60% of this position is spent on the floor with your team and the rest as dedicated administrative time. Prior experience in large specialty practices or academia is preferred.

Our Veterinary Technician Supervisors are responsible for directing the daily function and smooth operation of their services in collaboration with all services in the hospital. To be successful in either role you will need to :

• Ensure that high-quality technical support will be provided to all patients both inpatient and outpatient
• Provide excellent internal customer service to clinicians, residents, interns, and students. Provide excellent external customer service promoting a welcoming and supportive environment for our clients.
• Promote, facilitate, and develop a cohesive team spirit focusing on the highest standards of patient care.
• Utilize exceptional verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills to provide coaching and mentorship to all team members and engender a spirit of collegiality, collaboration, and teamwork both within the section and throughout the hospital.

Preferred Qualifications :

Pay Range

Minimum $33.00, Midpoint $39.30, Maximum $45.60

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
