Texas Nursing Job Details

Position : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Travel Nurse

Location : Jacksonville, TX 75766 (East Texas nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 6 / 2025 – End : 1 / 5 / 2026)

Shift : 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week (07 : 00 – 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg)

Charting : Epic EMR experience required

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 6-7

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1460-$1500

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Prior travel nurse experience required

Epic EMR charting experience required

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Clinical skills in rapid response / code teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions

Applicants must reside outside Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties in Texas

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in the Medical / Surgical unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient progress using Epic EMR

Implement physician orders and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Respond to rapid response and code situations

Manage peripheral lines and administer oxygen therapy

Maintain strict adherence to isolation and infection control protocols

Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families
