Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator oversees all safety programs and procedures within the modular manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, leading incident investigations, facilitating training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations. This role works cross-functionally to identify hazards, foster a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain site-specific safety policies and procedures tailored to modular construction / manufacturing.
Organize and deliver safety orientation for new hires.
Conduct routine inspections of workstations, equipment, tools, and modular units.
Respond to accidents, near-misses, and safety concerns.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other applicable standards.
Maintain accurate records of training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
Ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are current and accessible.
Develop and test emergency response plans (fire, severe weather, chemical spill, etc.).
Lead toolbox talks, safety committees, and recognition programs.
Work closely with managers, HR, and maintenance technician to ensure safe work practices.
Primary Work Location : Romulus, MI
Requirements :
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar credential -preferred
Demonstrated ability to understand directions and read blueprints / shop drawings.
