The Role
GSR is looking for an in-house Legal Counsel to join our global organisation on a full-time basis as a member of the Trading Documentation Legal team. You will facilitate growth of the business within the United States and other international jurisdictions, working closely with Senior Management and the Compliance, Business Development, and Trading functions.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Business Development and Trading functions by advising on customer transactions, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of agreements relating to GSR's core business activities.
- In-house OTC trading agreements
- Loan agreements
- Custody agreements (including tri-party)
- Gatekeeper for the Legal Department's advice to the business on regulatory, commercial, corporate, and operational matters, and escalating as needed
- Liaising with external legal counsel to obtain guidance and resolve highly specialised legal matters, local regulation, and licensing as they relate to transactions
- General support to the Legal & Compliance team
Your Profile
5+ years PQE at a major law firm or in-house in financial servicesUnderstanding of securities and derivatives law, with experience drafting and negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and / or asset-specific ISDA documentation frameworksExperience with underlying asset classes (credit derivatives, interest rates, FX, commodity derivatives, equity derivatives) is a plusCrypto-currency markets experience is a plusExperience in loan documentation, repo / securities lending, and / or custody documentation is a plusStrong commercial awareness with good negotiation and project management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and manage complex transactions from inception to completionExcellent interpersonal skills and professionalism with internal and external stakeholdersWhy GSR?

Expected annual salary : $250,000-$350,000
