Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU), you will be part of a program that provides 24-hour residential care to Oregonians with intellectual / developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed the supports offered by other community-based residential programs. SACU provides development and support to assist individuals in safely transitioning back to their home community. SACU staff provide life skills training, recreational opportunities and community integration, and work to maintain quality of life and independence.
As a Health Crisis Technician, you will :
- Provide direct care assistance in a 24-hour, 7 days per week residential medical group home for individuals with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities (I / DD).
- Provide behavioral management, safety, medical / health care, hygiene, nutrition, housekeeping, and other daily activities both within the home and the community.
- Maintain the home and property in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Work individually and collaboratively with other staff members as part of a team within the group home setting to provide and promote a therapeutic environment.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
18 months of experience providing direct care or assistance to individuals or groups with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental and / or physical disabilities, or substance abuse.
OR Possession of a Certified Nursing Aide level 2 (CNA2).
OR An associate degree in a field related to health care delivery.
OR A combination of education and experience.

Experience communicating verbally and in writing to follow instructions, communicate with others, and document information.Experience resolving conflicts in a professional and timely manner.Experience using computer software for documenting, reporting, and communicating information (e.g., Internet, Microsoft Office applications, etc.).Experience being a dependable resource for a team to achieve a common goal.Experience following behavior and mental health supports and / or medical orders.Experience monitoring and / or assisting individuals who experience mental, emotional, behavior, physical or medical challenges.Preferred attributes
These attributes are a plus; but are not required.
Experience working in a long-term care facility, hospital, clinic, adult foster care, medical group home or similar environment.CNA certification.Work experience using Therap and / or Workday.Attention all candidates!

Working Conditions
You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record.Frequent daily transportation of individuals using wheelchair accessible vehicles, passenger vans, mini vans and / or standard size cars. Must have the ability to drive a car / van.You will work in a residential home environment, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Frequent daily lifting up to 75 pounds involving transferring, positioning and moving individuals and / or moving program supplies.Frequent daily squatting, bending, and stooping.Daily exposure to household and sometimes industrial strength cleaning agents.You will work in a variety of settings both within the residential home(s) and in the community.Occasional exposure to inclement weather.Occasionally participate in water activities with the individuals as assigned.Background Checks and Requirements
