Responsibilities Work in a 21-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a comprehensive medical and surgical center Patient caseload includes critically ill or injured children with conditions such as acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO Night shift scheduling with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am, including every other weekend and some holidays Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization as staffing needs require Epic EMR experience is required and utilized in the unit Provide family-centered, comprehensive care to pediatric patients and their families as part of a highly skilled interdisciplinary team Responsibilities include management of diverse acute and complex cases using advanced clinical skills and critical decision-making Orientation typically lasts one week with specific scheduling provided prior to start Strict telemetry exam must be passed prior to start, with retesting protocols in place if needed Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU Requests for time off will be reviewed by the manager, with no more than two weeks allowed per contract First-time travelers may be considered Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted Requirements Active WI or compact RN license in hand at the time of application Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association Minimum two years of acute care experience in PICU within the last three years Solid PICU experience with additional CV ICU, cardiac step-down, or general cardiac experience required Basic arrhythmia / telemetry competency required, with successful completion of a pre-employment telemetry test Epic EMR charting experience required Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620766.
