Fit Recruiting is seeking a Senior Estimator for a growing construction firm. This candidate will lead the full preconstruction process for commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $20M+. Youll manage estimates from pursuit to handoff, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and smooth transitions to operations. This is a high-impact leadership role with opportunities for team mentorship and long-term growth. Salary is in the $100K-$120K range DOE + benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead estimates for hard-bid, GMP, and cost-plus projects across all CSI divisions
  • Oversee quantity takeoffs, pricing, scope sheets, and bid-day execution
  • Develop and document Basis of Estimate (BOE), risk register, and contingency plans
  • Coordinate subcontractor outreach, scope coverage, and proposal leveling
  • Conduct pre-bid site walks
  • Ensure estimates meet internal quality control checkpoints
  • Submit complete and compliant bid packages on time
  • Support buyout and handoff to project teams
  • Mentor and lead a small estimating / precon team

Qualifications

  • 710+ years of commercial estimating experience (GC environment)
  • Strong experience with hard bids; GMP / cost-plus a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and Sage (or similar)
  • Familiar with Procore and preconstruction tracking tools
  • Solid understanding of construction scope, CSI divisions, and general conditions
  • Ability to review plans / specs and perform detailed takeoffs
  • Knowledge of insurance, bonding, LDs, payroll, and commercial terms
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Willingness to travel for pre-bid walkthroughs and vendor meetings
