About The Position

Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care at a state-operated long-term mental health facility in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience with adult forensic and civil psychiatric populations and demonstrate strong skills in evaluation, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a full-time, weekday-only position with the option to earn additional compensation through on-call shifts.

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Completed an ACGME approved training program in psychiatry
• DEA certification
• BLS / ACLS certification
• Prior experience in correctional, forensic, or inpatient psychiatric settings Responsibilities
• Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medication.
• Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Complete all necessary clincial documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Accept obligations of scheduled assignments and perform all other duties as requested by the facility.
