Duties
- Conduct detailed inspections and troubleshooting of avionics systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD models such as CATIA and AutoCAD.
- Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures to determine underlying issues affecting system performance.
- Install, calibrate, test, and repair avionics equipment including communication, navigation, radar, and flight control systems in accordance with FAA regulations and industry standards like AS9100.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure components meet strict specifications.
- Fabricate or modify sheet metal parts using welding, soldering, power tools, hand tools, and heavy lifting techniques to support aircraft assembly or repair projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) platforms for compliance tracking.
- Conduct inspections of aircraft airframes and avionics systems to ensure adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and military standards when applicable.
- Support calibration and testing of electronic equipment using specialized tools such as ohmmeters and ammeters to verify system integrity.
- Participate in continuous training on new aerospace technologies and industry best practices to enhance technical skills.
Requirements
Part 65 Airframe rating preferred but not necessaryAbility to obtain Part 65 Airframe rating within 3 months of being hiredProven experience in aircraft maintenance with a strong background in electrical systems; military experience is highly valued.Proficiency with schematic reading, schematics interpretation, CAD software (including CATIA and AutoCAD), and familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques.Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).Knowledge of aviation standards including FAA regulations (FARs), AS9100 quality management system requirements, and military specifications when applicable.Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, calipers, micrometers, heavy lifting techniquesAbility to perform root cause analysis on complex electrical issues within avionics systems.Strong mechanical aptitude combined with electrical troubleshooting skills; experience with manufacturing processes is a plus.Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) for tracking work orders and documentation.Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
