Description :

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Ratios on the unit are 1 : 5-6.

Contracts are available for 13 weeks.

The unit offers either 36 or 48 hours of work per week.

Floating may be required to similar units as needed.

The schedule includes 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.

Patient diagnoses include pre and post-cardiac procedures such as catheterizations and device implants.

Additional responsibilities include management of arrhythmias and cardiac drips.

The unit is a 24-bed inpatient cardiac procedural unit with telemetry capabilities.

Average patient length of stay ranges from 1.8 to 2.4 days.

There is rapid patient turnover on the unit.

An admission, discharge, and transfer nurse is available Monday through Friday during peak patient transitions.

Absences must be made up at the end of the contract.

No additional time off is allowed during the first week due to orientation.

Candidates will need to pass EKG testing before starting in this specialty.
