This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a SRE Release Engineer in the United States .

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of production systems through effective release engineering and site reliability practices. You will collaborate with software development, operations, and IT teams to implement CI / CD pipelines, automate deployment workflows, and maintain high-quality software delivery standards. This position offers the opportunity to leverage SRE methodologies, ITIL practices, and emerging technologies to optimize processes, improve system performance, and drive operational excellence. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, shaping the reliability and efficiency of critical systems in a dynamic environment.

Accountabilities :

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI / CD pipelines and release management processes to support efficient software delivery.
  • Apply SRE best practices to monitor, optimize, and maintain production systems across multiple platforms.
  • Develop, test, and document system components and applications according to established standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement ITIL-based processes for change, release, and configuration management leveraging CMDB and data-driven insights.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve moderately complex technical issues to ensure system reliability.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior engineers and development teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, release engineering, or related IT roles.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., COBOL, C++, Visual Basic, Java) and associated development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of structured analysis, technical design, databases, and file access methods.
  • Experience with mainframe, client-server, and Windows-based applications.
  • Understanding of SRE principles, system design, optimization techniques, and ITIL practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to evolving business and technology requirements.
