Description :

Ability to design and implement an instructional program to meet the needs of target populations. Knowledge of prescribed curriculum. Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology. Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods. Knowledge of adult learning theory. Knowledge of current trends, research, and best practices related to education. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to work cooperatively and collaborate with a variety of students, staff, community agencies, and organizations. Skill in handling problems, concerns, and emotional distress with sensitivity and tact. Ability to plan, establish priorities, and implement activities for maximum effectiveness. Ability to assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and prescribe actions for improvement. Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn. Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.

Job Summary :

  • Teaching reading, English, social studies, science, math, and computer skills to individuals who are functioning below the 12th grade level to prepare for the official GED Exam;
  • Creating and developing curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials;
  • Integrating computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate;
  • Monitoring and assessing students' progress on a regular basis.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Valid Florida teacher certification in appropriate area, if required.
  • Successful teaching experience and / or specific knowledge, skills, training, and work experience in the assigned instructional area.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
