Tax Accountant, National Tax - Indirect Tax

Work with a team on a variety of issues involving state and local tax environments through a diverse set of experiences while serving clients. Develop clear plans to improve clients' tax activities. Research clients' business operations to tailor advice to their specific needs. Prepare and review state and local tax workpapers, including income tax summary, modifications, apportionment factors. Prepare and review state and local corporation tax returns, as well as quarterly estimated tax workbooks, calculating payments due. Research state tax code and regulations on apportionment sourcing rules, nexus rules, franchise tax, and income tax. Prepare tax provisions, audit positions, and state and local FIN48 memorandums. Review and draft responses to state notices and state auditors' Information and Document Requests.

Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services focusing on more complex, judgmental and / or specialized issues. Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Learn about EY and its service lines and actively assess and present ways to apply knowledge and services.

Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week, 8 : 30 am 5 : 30 pm.

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Tax or a related field, and 2 years of indirect tax work experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Tax or a related field, and 1 year of indirect tax work experience. Must have 1 year of experience at a professional services company, mid-sized / regional to large-sized national accounting firm, and / or in-house tax role. Must have 1 year of experience in state and local income & franchise tax. Must have 1 year of experience in multistate tax compliance either in preparation or review of tax return filings, accounting for income tax, and state tax controversy Must have 1 year of experience in technical writing and research experience in a tax context Must have 1 year of experience in Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, or Premium Pro. Requires domestic travel up to 15% to serve client needs. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training.
