Position Overview :

The Central Division Regional Safety and Compliance Manager monitors workplace activities to promote and ensure employee compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, DOT, and ATF regulations. This position works remotely in the Bloomington, Indiana area.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
  • Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies.
  • Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
  • Ensures all Vehicle and Employees meet Federal DOT requirements.
  • Conducts inspections of sites storage and records related to ATF Records.
  • Ensures all environmental regulations are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards.
  • Knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA)regulations.
  • Knowledge in Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required.
  • 10 years in mine safety or related experience.
  • 5 years underground mining experience
  • MSHA Bluecard preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • CPR / First Aid / AED instructor or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to travel by vehicle routinely up to 50%, as needed. Some travel is overnight and outside the region.
  • Must be able to lift 50lb or more at times.
  • Willingness to work year-round outside in all weather conditions.
  • Walks / traverses, stands on rough terrain, bends frequently, climbs ladders, steps, and other elevated platforms.
