Configuration / Data Management Specialist

Location :  Remote with a high preference for candidates who are local to the DC, MD, VA area

Citizenship Required :  Yes

Clearance Type :  Secret

Positions Available :  1

Salary Range : $95,000 - $115,000

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented  Configuration / Data Management Specialist   to join our team. The selected candidate will support different agencies in the federal government. This is an important position that will have a large impact on an already successful organization.

To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.

Primary Duties :

Describe and document issues for different audiences, managers, system engineers, and administrators, and prepare prepare / present briefings for customer as well as communications between engineering disciplines

Write appropriate cutover notifications and update of the new release content of final package deliverables

Develop and present Change Control Board (CCB) documentation for all existing and newly fielded hardware, assist in the presentation of changes at the CCB, answer questions, and adjust approaches as requested to mitigate risk

Create run books for network team to implement changes

Utilize the ticket tracking system to document a complete, accurate and detailed account of an incident and outages activities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical and organizational skills

Reviews critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to CMS related issues

Facilitates communication and engages business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts and value proposition

Reviews and approves significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed

Required Qualifications :

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3 + years of experience
  • Ability to focus on the technical aspect steps as well as how they fit into the overall upgrade process
  • Experience performing proper baseline identification of configuration items, performing periodic audits, and providing verification of version release configuration items

Experience planning, evaluating, directing, tracking, analyzing, and coordinating CM activities on large, complex programs / projects

Experience creating run books and presentations to Configuration Control Boards

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities along with horizontal integration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • US Citizen with Secret clearance
