About The Position

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience

Preferred experience with Ventricular Assist Devices

License :

Active South Carolina or Multi State / Compact RN license required

Certifications : PALS

BLS (must be from American Heart Association)

Preferred : ACLS (must be from American Heart Association)

Must-Have :

Experience working with patients with congenital heart disease

Ability to provide care in a high-acuity environment

Description :

The Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 29-bed facility.

It is recognized for excellence in pediatric cardiac care.

The average daily census is 26.

The unit cares for patients of all ages with congenital heart disease.

Common procedures include cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Devices, heart transplants, and cardiac catheterization.

The unit provides advanced support therapies such as ECMO and CRRT.

Pediatric palliative care services are also available as needed.

The staffing model includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries.

Interdisciplinary support services such as Respiratory Therapy and Pediatric Dietitians are available.

All beds are monitored to ensure patient safety.

The environment is fast-paced and requires collaboration among healthcare professionals.

Nurses will be responsible for providing care based on patient needs and unit protocols.

Staff may float to meet facility needs within pediatric departments.

Weekend shifts are required, four per four-week schedule.

All requests for time off must be communicated before submission.
