JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe surgical staff RN is a registered nurse responsible for the intraoperative nursing care of patients undergoing surgical intervention in accordance with established standards of care and within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. The surgical staff RN is responsible for meeting the biophysical, psychological, and environmental needs of the surgical patient. The RN functions as a circulating nurse and is responsible for maintaining the patient's medical record with proper documentation of the nursing process. The RN coordinates, delegates, teaches, and supervises nonprofessional personnel on the job, while maintaining a safe environment.\nQUALIFICATIONS\n
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing\n
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Mississippi Board of Nursing\n
- Current BLS certification\n
- Demonstration of recent and relevant experience\n
- Participation in continuing education programs related to operating room nursing and mandatory OCH in-service programs\n
- Ability to meet daily physical demands of job\n
- Cognitive ability to follow directions\nJOB RELATIONSHIPS\n
- Works under the direct supervision of the OR Director / Head Nurse\n
