Role Overview
Soundspace is seeking a highly skilled Lead Recording Studio Engineer to manage our state-of-the-art studio in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical expertise in music production, along with proven entrepreneurial and business management skills. This role requires a hands-on leader who can oversee all aspects of studio operations, ensuring high-quality recording sessions while also driving the studio's business and revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the recording studio, including equipment maintenance, scheduling, and session management.
Engineer and produce music sessions with a high level of professionalism and technical acumen.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize studio usage and profitability.
Train and supervise studio staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Build and maintain relationships with artists, producers, and other key industry figures.
Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation for studio operations.
Innovate and implement new services and offerings to keep the studio competitive and relevant in the industry.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Recording Studio Engineer with at least 5 years of industry experience.
Strong entrepreneurial skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and grow a studio business.
Extensive knowledge of recording equipment, software, and production techniques.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong network within the music industry, particularly in the Indianapolis area.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on studio booking needs.
Bachelor's degree in Music Technology, Sound Engineering, or related field is preferred.
