Mutual of Enumclaw works exclusively with local independent agents to offer insurance products for individuals, families, farms, and businesses. We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming.
The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Sr. Sales Director and acts as a liaison to all other departments and levels of management. This role will drive Mutual of Enumclaw's profit, growth, philosophies, strategies, and performance within Oregon and Southwestern Washington. They will be accountable for increasing agency results and engagement across all lines of business. This role functions as the senior-most field sales professional, change agent, and channel strategist. The RSM is responsible for sustained profitable growth derived from independent agents. They will lead new business endeavors, and profit strategies, develop annual sales growth strategies, review, and leverage field analytics. They will advise, train, mentor, and partner with Independent Agents as well as internal staff. They will be responsible to leverage agency compensation such as commissions, incentives, and profit sharing to increase profitable growth. The RSM will become experts on Mutual of Enumclaw's product offering. They will also have a complete understanding of the competition's features and will have the ability to demonstrate Mutual of Enumclaw's superior benefits.
The successful candidate will work remotely and must be located in Oregon / Southwestern Washington. Candidate must be able to work our core Pacific time business hours, and have high-speed internet (internet speed test required).
Hiring Range : $113,867 - $140,381
Salary Range : $113,867 - $161,333
- The hiring range represents Mutual of Enumclaw's current hiring pay scale for this role. Mutual of Enumclaw reserves the right to modify or update this range any time. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Compensation is only one part of our entire total rewards package.
Responsibilities
Act as Mutual of Enumclaw's field team lead for matters.Generate, grow, and profit within assigned sales territories.Manage agencies and development and hold agents accountable, with an emphasis on increasing profitable sales and pipeline activities.Create excitement and promote the "Rare and Valuable" promise of Mutual of Enumclaw.Delivers leadership and guidance to agents for developing innovative methodologies to improve sales operations and agency partner experience.Facilitates discussions from data-driven reports, trends, insights, and areas that may lead to an enhanced result.Recruit, interview, hire, and train agencies. Responsible for the successful onboarding and time-bound production of new agencies.Provide constructive and timely agency performance evaluations to Mutual of Enumclaw and their assigned agencies.Educate agency personnel on company procedures and philosophies.Responsible for agency planning. Holds agents and agencies accountable to achieve agreed-upon goals.Leverage financial analysis to uncover hidden market opportunities and maximize new sales.Identify areas of collaboration for creating new revenue streams.Drive revenue-generating strategies across all lines of business through effective management, account rounding, retention, referral, and new business programs.Accountable for obtaining book rolls and book consolidations. Required to optimize the members, companies, and the agency's experience.Address other requirements that arise in a dynamic business environment.Qualifications
Required Skills / Abilities :
Advanced-level technical skills involving in-depth knowledge of Independent Agent distribution systems, Agent / Agency sales, and underwriting.Proven relationship cultivation and management experience; negotiation, conflict resolution, collaboration, influence, consulting / advisory, decision-making, and leadership skills required.Demonstrated ability to function at a high level with "minimal supervision".Exhibit the ability to successfully develop and further relationships.Proven skill in devising and executing strategic and tactical marketing plans / programs, evidenced by increased profitable premium written and business opportunities.Demonstrated skill, innovation, and creativity in ascertaining Agent / Agency-specific requirements and negotiating complex contract engagements and business development opportunities.Highly proficient organizational and time-management skills; interpersonal, written / verbal / listening communication skills, and observational, analytical, and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.Proficiency with personal computer systems, software, and basic understanding of insurance industry software applications.Education and Experience :
8- 10+ years of field territory sales, sales strategy, relationship management, Agency Training, Independent Agent sales, Agency Management, Underwriting, Product Development, or related insurance experience.5-10+ years working with Oregon Independent insurance agency channel.Bachelor's degree required. CIC, and other insurance industry certification(s) / designation(s) preferred.Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.Meet requirements of 50% travel, after-hours, on-call, and weekend work as necessary, and perform physically active marketing activities while remaining effective.
