Operations Safety Supervisor

The Operations Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in fostering a strong safety culture and managing environmental compliance at Iron Bull Distillery.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Leads the development and execution of a sound safety program to achieve zero injuries at IBD.
  • Leads the creation of a safety culture to ensure team members think about safety first & watch out for the safety of others.
  • Recommends, develops & executes procedures, policies & programs to enhance workplace safety; develops & executes safety training; leads an active safety committee; creates & oversees a system to quickly identify & remedy safety hazards; oversees investigation of accidents, injuries & property damage.
  • Participates in "My Development" and executes the plan to meet / exceed goals and KPIs.
  • Develops the policies needed in support of the Environmental, Health & Safety Program; provides input to the leadership team on all policies as they are developed and implemented.
  • Ensures compliance with all health / safety and environmental Learning Management System (LMS) course requirements.
  • Develops and conducts the safety portion of the new employee orientation program inclusive of required LMS courses.
  • Efficiently manages Safety CAPEX projects at IBD within needed timeframe; reviews and approves all IBD CAPEX projects for safety / environmental compliance in conjunction with Operations Manager and Plant Manager.
  • Manages and oversees all workers compensation carrier's claims and ensures administration of the system.
  • Obtains and keeps the reporting and record keeping requirements for safety and workers' compensation.
  • Performs safety inspections and assists with inspections for environmental compliance.
  • Oversees procedures for reduction and disposal of miscellaneous or non-routine hazardous materials. Participates in and ensure compliance with regulations regarding Spill Plan Control and Countermeasures. Assist with air and water environmental inspections, as needed.
  • Oversees Contractor & Temporary Employee Orientation Program.
  • Works with management and contracted security teams to develop a system that is safe for all individuals that enter onto the facility and leave the facility.
  • Communicates pertinent information with appropriate team members. Develops and executes security measures to protect people and assets, and to eliminate occurrence of or opportunities for theft.
  • Ensures adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Provides crisis management advice and direction to designated safety representatives and employees at all applicable locations.
  • Leads the creation of a safety culture to ensure employees think safety first & watch out for the safety of others. Lead in a manner consistent with the culture of the company.
  • Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect.
  • Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manages health and safety budget.
  • Manages voucher and PPE program to ensure compliance.

The Operations Safety Supervisor will also support to the production team as needed :

  • Providing leadership to assigned bottling line teams in a manner consistent with the culture of the company.
  • Working with Operations Manager and Maintenance team implement operational and mechanical improvements.
  • Evaluating production efficiency and cost; plans, organizes, directs, monitors and evaluates production on assigned.
  • Continuously improving the quality of processes, products, services and the culture in which we work.
  • Ensuring all Bottling operations meet regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA and TTB regulations.
  • Taking immediate corrective action when needed to stay in compliance.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of safety / operations leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work 10+ hours each shift
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Preferred :

  • Degree concentration in Environmental, Heath and Safety
  • Experience in the food & beverage industry
  • Min USD $72,948.95 / Yr.

    Max USD $109,423.43 / Yr.
