Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced VDC Project Manager to lead Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordination efforts on complex construction projects. This position requires strong technical skills in virtual design, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, solves problems with creativity, and ensures efficient, high-quality project execution through digital coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, field, and fabrication teams to gather critical information at project start-up.

Guide and mentor staff on trade-specific practices, BIM processes, and digital coordination standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Interpret plans, specifications, and submittals to support effective system design and layout.

Lead coordination for one or more projects, managing timelines, resolving conflicts, and ensuring adherence to contract requirements.

Develop 3D layouts for trade systems and oversee team workflows to maintain project schedules.

Generate and track RFIs, providing timely updates to project management and stakeholders.

Review BIM / VDC models for compliance, constructability, and efficiency, while ensuring systems are clash-free and hanger placement is properly coordinated.

Facilitate and run coordination meetings using NAVISWORKS, driving daily clash detection and resolution efforts.

Monitor progress of other trades, identify risks or delays, and communicate issues to project leadership.

Manage fabrication drawing reviews, ensuring accuracy before release to the shop.

Document and report weekly trade progress, system revisions, and changes in scope.

Ensure compliance with CPMI planning and support superintendents and project managers with timely updates.

Provide technical support during project delivery and act as a liaison between office, field, and external partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).

7+ years of experience in VDC / BIM or related construction management roles.

Proficiency with BIM coordination tools (e.g., NAVISWORKS, Revit, AutoCAD) and knowledge of digital construction workflows.

Ability to make independent decisions on complex issues while applying broad knowledge of industry practices.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to train and develop team members.

Excellent communication and organizational skills, with proven success in leading multi-disciplinary coordination efforts.
