A Civil Engineering Firm, located within the Treasure Coast of
Florida, is seeking an experienced, licensed Professional Engineer that is energetic, loyal and a team player is needed for roadway design / drainage design / utility design and field inspection projects for private and public Clients. Our Professional Engineers typically : prepare studies, engineering calculations, design general civil engineering projects, attend meetings, coordinate schedules, and prepare cost estimates. In addition, a Professional Engineer is responsible for the following activities :
- Prepare proposals and engineering contracts.
- Project management, delegate work and oversee design staff efforts.
- Provide in-house training for CADD standards.
- Prepare design calculations for stormwater management systems, traffic, water / wastewater utility systems, hydraulic and hydrology calculations, force main / lift station calculations, sanitary sewer pipe sizing, water distribution calculations.
Calculations may include modeling.
- Prepare design of water, sanitary sewer, drainage, signal and roadway plans.
- Provide Computer Aided Drafting of construction plans utilizing Civil 3D
AutoCAD, site plans, exhibits, etc.
- Conduct field visits to confirm understanding of the projects.
- Assist in preparation of correspondence and attendance at meetings with Clients, regulatory agencies, utility companies, etc., to facilitate project construction. .
- Review of permits from regulatory agencies, allowing for completion of construction / project certification.
- Prepare / submit permits to regulatory agencies.
- Provide Quality Control checks, specifically assessing the constructability of design projects for project managers, engineers, technicians, design / drafters and project coordinators.
- Assist in preparing letters, permits applications, phone calls.
- Prepare project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate efforts of Sub-Consultants such as surveyors, environmentalists and geotechnical services for the preparation of design documents.
- Assist in performance of construction administration services which may include preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bid / technical specifications, construction contracts, attend pre-bid / construction meetings, provide on-site field inspections, review monthly construction estimates and schedules and complete final certification documents for projects.
- Attend professional seminars and participate in at least one technical society.
This position requires a valid FL driver's license and is subject to policies of a Drug-free
Work Place and background review. The dress code requires a professional appearance appropriate for the specific duties being performed. This is a salaried position, located in Stuart, FL, with a 40-hour work week minimum. This position is supervised by the President of the company. Administrative / personnel / benefit issues are handled by the Office Manager.
