Borealis Enterprises, LLC, is seeking a Federal Construction Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) in Niagara, New York. The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) acts as the single point of contact regarding safety and environmental health on the project or construction site and is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Contractor Health and Safety Program. The purpose of this role is to mitigate and / or eliminate safety or health risks.
Borealis Enterprises LLC is an entity of NTVI Federal, Inc, a federal contractor engaged in construction, professional services, facility management and telecommunications, with its corporate office in Chantilly, Virginia.
Responsibilities
- The current scope of work is to manage site-specific Contractor Health and Safety Program in compliance with EM 385-1-1 standards .
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the safety and loss prevention program of construction department.
- Ensures that each project site conforms to all applicable safety regulations.
- Visit each active project site daily to ensure full compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Must be at each project site at all times when work is being performed.
- Responsible for assigning safety inspectors to sites and ensuring that follow-ups are conducted when necessary.
- Provides solutions when sites are found to be in violation of safety standards.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
- Ensures that project / department milestones / goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Assist our site super with misc. activities such as keeping up with logs and working with QC to check status of submittals.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferred)Requires 5 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor.1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.USACE EM 385-1-1 Certification requiredFirst Aid / CPR / AED Certifications requiredOSHA 30 Certification preferredProfessional Safety Credentials – like the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plusIf interested, please send your resume to HR@ntvifederal.com.
