About The Position

Perm Role : CMA - Clinic (Days)

Location :   Brooklyn   Center ,  MN

$22.23 - $27.37 (based on years of experience) with full benefits!

Job Summary :

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at  Brooklyn   Center  Primary Care Clinic will manage patient flow and assist providers in delivering high-quality care to individuals across all age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The role involves clinical, clerical, and administrative tasks as per the Blaze Health Medical Assistant scope of practice and in compliance with Minnesota Board of Nursing and Minnesota Board of Medical Practice guidelines.

The CMA works closely with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to achieve departmental and organizational goals while maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities :

Clinical Care :

  • Perform patient rooming, vitals, and documentation.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and conduct basic clinical lab tests.
  • Assist with prescription refills and medication reconciliation.
  • Provide telephone support and patient-provider communication.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and x-ray duties (if certified).
  • Ensure proper sterilization and infection control procedures.

Clinic Support :

  • Assist with front desk / check-in procedures when needed.
  • Order and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
  • Help with prior authorizations and insurance documentation.
  • Maintain proficiency in EMR systems and documentation protocols.
  • Compliance & Professional Standards :

  • Follow North Memorial’s Corporate Code of Conduct and patient privacy policies.
  • Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and accrediting standards.
  • Report compliance concerns to supervisors or the Corporate Compliance Officer.
  • Education & Certification Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED – Required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) – Required.
  • Current BLS Certification – Required.
  • Passed x-ray operator’s examination or willingness to take it (as per clinic needs).
  • Experience & Skills :

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting – Required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in computer software and EMR systems.
  • Ability to travel to local worksites using a personal vehicle (only applicable for Occupational Medicine).
