Position Summary

$17 / hr Tuesday-Saturday, 6 : 30 am - 3 pm ($1,000 Sign-on Bonus Available!)

The Sanitation Utility role is vital in maintaining our food safety standards. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing non-production areas and other parts of our facilities to ensure safe and edible products. The role involves strenuous work to maintain cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform sanitation duties, thoroughly clean assigned areas, maintain sanitation schedules, and follow checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, including restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, entrances, locker rooms, offices, and laboratories.
  • Follow safety procedures during work, adhering to standard operating procedures and safety expectations.
  • Stock cleaning supplies and paper goods, assist other departments with chemicals or cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Check rodent and pheromone traps weekly, monitor pest activity, and report signs of infestations.
  • Monitor and report product protection issues and maintenance needs to QA Supervisor or maintenance department.
  • Clean up blood stains or spills resulting from accidents or injuries on company property.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement continuous improvements in safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Previous manufacturing experience, especially in a food manufacturing environment, is strongly preferred.
  • Physical Requirements

    Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations :

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds; team lifting or mechanical aids required for heavier loads.
  • Work in hot, humid, and cold environments for 6+ hours per shift.
  • Sitting, stooping, reaching, climbing, and working off ladders / stairs for extended periods.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling for 6+ hours per shift.
  • Standing and walking for 8+ hours per shift.
  • Performing grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation tasks for extended durations.
  • Communicating ideas verbally or in writing, and visual object or equipment recognition.
