Overview
Donahue Fitzgerald LLP is seeking a litigation legal secretary to join our team in our Oakland office. This position will be responsible for supporting multiple attorneys across various practice areas.
Responsibilities
- Secretarial, word processing, and legal administrative support for multiple partners and associate attorneys in a variety of practice areas.
- Create, revise, and format legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, agreements, and forms from handwritten drafts, notes, or dictation. Apply track changes, formatting, and styles; edit, label, and redact documents; compare documents using document comparison software and produce redlined versions; ability to produce TOA and TOC
- Proofread documents for spelling, grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors
- Experience with E-filing in both State and Federal courts
- Assist attorneys with special projects and other general administrative duties.
- Schedule and calendar meetings, depositions, hearings, and court reporters
- Perform legal calendaring
- Assist with the opening and closing of matters
- Interact with clients, visitors, attorneys, and staff via telephone and email
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a litigation legal secretary within a law firm environmentAbility to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills and the ability to multitaskExcellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAbility to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision, as well as part of a teamAbility to handle complex assignments and complete projects under tight deadlines, must be able to adapt to changing priorities quicklyStrong commitment to client serviceMust be a team playerExcellent attention to detail and proofreading skillsAbility to work overtime on an occasional basisMinimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED, required; Bachelor's degree, preferred3+ years of litigation experience requiredStrong knowledge of Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat or Foxit PDFExperience with a Document Management System such as iManage, FileSite, NetDocsPrior experience with a legal calendaring software such as Compulaw or ProlawCandidate must be able to work 5 days in the office for the first 90 days, and then a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the officeThe estimated annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,0000. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience and job knowledge required for this role.
