As the CRM Administrator & Data Strategy Manager , for the WSU Foundation , you will administer, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operations of and strategy for the University Advancement CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) system. You will work closely with WSU Advancement (WSU Foundation & Alumni Association), as well as fundraising departments across the WSU System (6 campuses).
In this role, you will collaborate and partner with cross-functional leaders, colleges, units, and departments to continually develop and expand integrated, system-wide CRM strategic plans in support of University Advancement philanthropic initiatives. You will be accountable for coordinating communication strategies, UAT processes, and integrations; managing system customizations impacting business practices; and working to maximize the effectiveness of the CRM, improve the advancement and donor experience, and assist in achieving cohesive department and unit goals across the WSU system.
You will also have the opportunity to design and support integration across the WSU system, with focus on WSU Advancement's strategic plan. You will re-engineer the CRM core strategies on an on-going basis to achieve specific, ambitious goals and to position WSU Advancement for the next level of long-term success in continuing to transform processes, appropriately increase access, and strategically support the overall WSU Advancement communities.
In this position, you will lead and supervise the work of assigned cross-functional teams, provide change leadership that improves CRM system practices and collaboration, promote CRM best practices, and may lead CRM trainings. You will also work and partner with the Director of Advancement Records and Data Strategy and unit AVP with planning to manage critical system areas and strategic partnerships to streamline business processes and ensure integrity of the CRM system and philanthropic campaigns.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include administering, managing, and overseeing day-to-day operations and strategy for the University Advancement CRM system; coordinating communication strategies, user acceptance testing (UAT) processes, and integrations; managing system customizations affecting business practices; and maximizing the effectiveness of the CRM to improve the donor experience and support advancement goals across the WSU system. You will lead cross-functional teams, promote CRM best practices, and may conduct CRM trainings. You will collaborate with the Director of Advancement Records and Data Strategy and the unit AVP to streamline business processes and ensure CRM integrity.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, or related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in procedural, management, or business analysis work; OR a combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years from which comparable knowledge and ability are acquired. A Master's Degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
Demonstrated project and time management experience; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a focus on building and maintaining positive working relationships.
Technical aptitude toward data quality and management.
Ability to travel to a WSU campus 1-2 times per year.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and skill in writing professional and effective communications to internal and external audiences.
Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional diverse populations and a commitment to develop strategies that serve the needs of students.
Knowledge of communication strategies in higher education.
Experience building or supporting the build of complex communication plans including logic and variable data.
Experience with technology solutions (Ellucian CRM Advance and / or Microsoft Dynamics) CRM, or related systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Raiser's Edge, and conceptual understanding of relational databases.
Experience and success leading change management.
Basic knowledge of ADA accessibility in technology and communications.
Knowledge of Advancement principles and University Advancement policies and procedures, including use of database systems for higher ed.
Strategic focus to improve and promote quality and efficiency of CRM systems.
Experience establishing data enhancement and project plans to support data hygiene initiatives.
Experience supporting an Advancement unit(s) during a comprehensive university fundraising campaign.
Experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting complex information.
Experience in database programming with SQL Server or Oracle and other database programming tools and databases.
Experience implementing or working with Ellucian Advance Web, CRM Advance, or other higher education systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of process, ethics, and policies of professional fundraising.
