Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage personnel on crewsMaintain quality of product (i.e. smoothness and thickness)Maintain and work with all asphalt paving equipmentCommunicate direction from Asphalt Paving Superintendent to staffCalculate materials including the spread rate and yield of asphaltReport quantities to supervisor on a daily basisSchedule and track crews labor timeEnsure all safety requirements are metDirectly supervise 5-10 reportsSchedule, supervise, and evaluate work of first line supervisors (Assistant Foreman) and employeesParticipate and recommend the hiring, termination, promotion, and performance appraisal of subordinatesSolely responsible for employee discipline, goal setting, counseling and training of subordinatesActions and decisions will impact loss of time, injury and damage, and has regular decision-making responsibilityHolds regular contact with other crews and supervisory staffMust foster harmonious interactions and relationships and maintain basic standards of civility in the workplaceUpholds acceptable attendanceIs a productive team member that supports the team by going and assisting where neededExemplifies our core values Teamwork Integrity CommitmentComplies with all applicable safety, environment, health and waste management policies and proceduresAbility to handle a great deal of stress over long periods of time.
