Overview
Adjunct Faculty, Paralegal Studies at Lone Star College. This is a part-time, semester-by-semester appointment based on student demand and availability of courses.
Essential Job Functions
- Teaches Paralegal Studies courses at a variety of times and locations
- Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner
- Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
- Meets with and advises students before or after class or by appointment, electronically or by other appropriate methods
- Evaluates students to measure progress and informs students of their progress in a timely manner
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
- Other reasonable related duties as assigned

Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or legal assistant; plus at least 3 years non-teaching experience as a paralegal; OR an Associate degree or higher (in any field) plus a certificate in paralegal studies or legal assistant and at least three years non-teaching experience as a paralegal; OR a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and experience working with paralegalsWork Schedule And Conditions
Hours vary; instructors are required to meet scheduled classes and be available outside of classWork is performed in a climate-controlled classroom and / or lab environmentPhysical Abilities
The work is sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light carrying. No special physical demands are required.
Salary
$55.44 per contact hour.
