Nuclear Pharmacist I
We are seeking a Nuclear Pharmacist I for a full-time direct hire position supporting radiopharmaceutical production and quality assurance in a regulated cleanroom environment in Gilroy, CA . Overview :
As a Nuclear Pharmacist I, you will compound and dispense radiopharmaceuticals, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support site-level quality assurance. This role involves occupational exposure to radiation and requires meticulous attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and collaboration with QA and operations teams.
Schedule :
Overnight shifts within an 8 : 00 PM to 5 : 00 AM window (8-hour shifts).
May include extended hours based on production needs.
Rotating weekend coverage (currently two Saturdays per month).
Responsibilities :
- Compound, dispense, and distribute radiopharmaceuticals; manage dose records and reports using Pinestar.
- Perform synthesis, quality control, and assurance of FDG and NaF, including reagent preparation.
- Ensure compliance with USP , , proposed , and state pharmacy regulations.
- Adhere to cGMP standards and quality management systems, including 21 CFR Parts 211 and 212.
- Maintain aseptic operations and environmental monitoring in cleanroom settings.
- Uphold radiation and laboratory safety protocols; respond to chemical or radioactive spills.
- Complete cGMP documentation and support QA investigations, CAPAs, deviations, and batch records.
- Write and review SOPs and internal procedures; initiate and manage change controls.
- Monitor site metrology program and ensure timely calibration / validation of equipment.
- Address customer complaints and collaborate to resolve quality issues.
- Provide on-the-floor QA oversight and resolve quality-related issues in real time.
- Deliver quality customer service to physicians, healthcare workers, and clients.
- Train and supervise nuclear pharmacy technicians; maintain accurate training records.
- Attend corporate and site-level meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
B.S. or Pharm.D. from an accredited pharmacy school required.California pharmacist license required (can be obtained post-hire).Open to new graduates and candidates from retail pharmacy backgrounds.Nuclear pharmacy certification preferred; support for nuclear licensing available through Purdue University.Background in nuclear pharmacy, PET, radiation safety, or cyclotron processes preferred.Ability to interpret technical documents and regulations; write reports and SOPs.Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and management skills.Radiation Exposure Consideration :
