- Provides oral surgery services to patients including :
- Simple and surgical extractions including impacted third molars
- Pre-prosthetic procedures such as alveoplasty and tori removal
- Diagnosis and treatment of oral disease including soft and hard tissues lesions
- Other oral surgery procedures as needed
- Coordinates the implementation of dental functions in order to meet patient care needs and industry and agency standards.
- Appraises patient dental needs and correctional methods.
- Reviews rules and standards and may recommend changes in departmental policies and procedures, as appropriate.
- Supervises dental assistants at chair side to ensure the application of proper dental techniques and methods.
- Maintains patient records in chart of all dental services rendered.
- Attends doctors meetings, if applicable.
- Consults with patient physician where appropriate.
- Complete periodic chart reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Qualifications, and / or Experience
- Must possess a valid and unencumbered dental license from the Dental Board of California
- Must possess Professional Liability Insurance
- Must have completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program
