The Horton Grand Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter and is steps away from the Convention Center, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. This part-time position requires a commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a passion for cooking.

As a prep cook at The Horton Grand Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes in accordance with our recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized environment and supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking including washing, peeling, cutting and measuring.
• Read thoroughly and follow recipes accurately to prepare menu items.
• Ensure all food items are properly stored, labeled and FIFO is properly used in accordance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen including workstations, equipment and storage areas.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management and notify the Chef of any shortages or quality issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or General Manager.
