Perform all pre-trip inspections and safety checks per DOT regulations , including reviewing itineraries, checking route numbers, completing trailer temperature checks, and ensuring vehicle readiness.
Safely drive and deliver customer orders according to assigned routes and delivery schedules.
Use an electronic timekeeping system to accurately log arrival and departure times at customer sites.
Survey delivery sites to identify potential safety hazards and ensure proper unloading conditions.
Verify deliveries with customers, confirm order accuracy, and obtain required signatures.
Perform backhaul pickups from vendors when assigned.
Conduct all post-trip responsibilities , including fueling, unhooking and securing trailers, and completing DOT logs, DVIR reports , and maintenance documentation.
Attend all required company meetings, safety trainings, and compliance assessments .
Follow all company safety policies, driving standards, and operational procedures .
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications :
Must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a valid CDL Class A license issued by the state of legal residence with required endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience required
Experience delivering food products preferred
Strong knowledge of DOT rules, vehicle inspection procedures, and safe driving practices
Ability to complete accurate delivery logs, inspection reports, and DVIRs
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
