SkyCafe – A GAT Company is seeking a dedicated Food Safety Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality across our operations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of U.S. Operations , the Food Safety Supervisor will oversee the implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of our Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to ensure our operations exceed all regulatory and internal food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure food safety and quality compliance across all areas of the operation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production areas, storage facilities, and overall plant environment to identify and mitigate food safety risks.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation is maintained, including all QA records, logs, and regulatory forms.
- Oversee the application and effectiveness of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) programs.
- Maintain compliance with all FDA, USDA, and other applicable federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
- Partner with key departments—including Production, Sanitation, and Purchasing—to enforce adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct ongoing staff training on food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor food safety performance through data tracking, trend analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Stay up to date on the latest food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.Certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and HACCP certification required.5+ years of food safety experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.Strong knowledge of food microbiology, food chemistry, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.In-depth understanding of regulatory standards such as FDA FSMA, cGMPs, HACCP, and USDA regulations.Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with cloud-based systems and operational technology (e.g., scanners, tablets, printers).Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.Seniority level
